FYI: 2 years = 24 months. And beta time doesn't count. How comes you've been with the game THIS long and not know that?

Whether you like people being negative or not it doesn't really matter as you are the one that's supposed to listen to everyone's point of views and relay them to the Dev's right? If you are only paying attention to just the ones you want to listen to then that is being more than a bit biased and goes against the claims of listening to the playerbase. People complained about mini-pets for quite some time and the pets keep comming and if you choose to not listen to all the people showing their dislike of them then that explain why there are so many mini-pets still being made.

As for me, I'm hoping to get an Aatxe. ^_^

How disappointing.

If they were going to just release more useless mini-pets to clog up our storage boxes, the least they could have done was pick some cool enemies to make miniatures of, and not the really really really bad selection of stuff almost nobody wants that they did pick.
Why not popular and/or cool creatures like Mursaat, Griffons, other Charr besides the Shaman, Nightmares, Skeletons, Smoke Phantoms, Hellhounds, Wraith, or any of the other decent monsters out there... why the unpopular crap they did select like Palawa Joko, Wintersday Elf, Harpy, etc.?

Eah, actually I have to disagree with you there. See, ArenaNet is a company that makes money by selling it's game to people, and keeping those people happy and enjoying the game so that they keep buying the new expansions/campaigns and keep picking up more things like extra character slots and such. That's how they continue to make money and stay in business, and they can't do that if the customer's aren't happy. If they never went out of their way to give you anything special to counter all the times they make huge nerfs, cause bugs and glitches that destroy hours of hard work, and fail again and again to provide the frequently requested additions to the game instead of the side things they do add that no one ever asked for in the first place. Currently, a lot of people are unhappy with how Guild Wars has been going the last six months or so, and a lot have left. It's clear to see how unhappy the majority of the community is if you look over forums like this, so ArenaNet has to keep trying to keep the customers pleased so that they keep buying and the company continues to make a profit. After all, without a profit you have no company at all.

since alot of people wanted one in the suggestion threads. If it is that just makes one more common one and we have the entire set worked out (is there is the exact same amount as there was last year)

A majority of those Minipets are pretty terrible.

Anet had so many better things they could have made Minipets.

Very well said. No offence to Gaile, but this is where I feel she fails most at her job. She just can't seem to keep her own personal bias's out of the game long enough to convey accurate information about how the community feels about things to that the Devs and Programmers so that they can make the changes that they need, and not just the ones that she wants. I know it's not what people want to hear, but when you stop and look at all the contradictory quotes from her that get posted around again and again, and how she tends to handle situations like this one... well, I just think she could be doing a little better job than she is. Sorry, just my take on it... guess I've just been in Retail and Business far too long to not nit pick at bad customer service.

A-Net has a habit of reading the opinions of the Fanbase and then doing something else. One may wonder where they get their information from.

The community had a poll about alternatives towards 2nd birthday gifts and they showed a great deal of frustration and desinterest towards Minipets. Interestingly enough A-Nets statement was "the community is highly interested in new minipets".
There were raging Lightbringer Title Debates about it being too much of a grind and sadly a requirement for later PVE. Yet again "the Lightbringer and Sunspear Titles were well received".
Heroes Ascent players begged for a long time to get their PVP mode fixed again from crappy and not working 6vs6 to 8vs8. Somewhere in this time A-Net proclaimed that the 6vs6 change was well received. And even when they reimplemented 8vs8 they kept the broken mechanism that keeps it just as unplayable. And once again they say the community wanted it that way.

One can only wonder where they get their information from.
